Texas’ Sales Tax Holiday

TEXAS – Prepare yourself, this year the sales tax holiday will run from August 9 – 11.

During the mentioned weekend, shoppers can purchase qualifying products priced under $100 tax free, whether it’s in-store, online, telephone or mail. You will also be able to put items in law-away to take advantage of the exemption.

Here is a list of some qualifying school supplies.

• Binders
• Calculators
• Crayons
• Book bags/Lunch boxes
• Scissors
• Writing tablets

Here is a list of some qualifying clothing, footwear and other items.

• Athletic socks
• Belts
• Blouses
• Undergarments
• Hooded shirts/sweatshirts
• Jackets
• Jeans
• Scarves, shawls, wraps
• Shoes
• Uniforms

Rental, alterations or cleaning services of clothing and footwear are not exempt.
