Back To School Sales Tax Holiday
NATIONWIDE – According to the National Retail Federation, Back To School is a $72 billion industry. On average, a family spends $637.78 on apparel, shoes, supplies and electronics to get ready for the school year.
Sales have started popping up and so have the dates for the Back to School Sales Tax Holidays. Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon have no state-wide sales tax while Pennsylvania and Vermont already exempt some clothing.
Here’s a list of states offering taxpayers a break for Back to School:
Alabama Back to School Weekend – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
Florida Tax Free Weekend – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
Missouri Tax Free Weekend – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
New Mexico Tax Free Weekend 2016 – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
Ohio Tax Free Weekend 2016 – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
Oklahoma Tax Free Weekend – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
South Carolina Tax Free Weekend – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
Texas Tax Free Weekend 2016 – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
Virginia Tax Free Weekend 2016 – August 5-7, 2016 – Friday – Sunday.
Iowa Sales Tax Holiday – August 5-6, 2016 – Friday and Saturday only.
Louisiana Tax Free Weekend – August 5-6, 2016 – Friday and Saturday only.
Arkansas Sales Tax Free Weekend – August 6-7, 2016 – Saturday and Sunday only.
Maryland Tax Free Week 2016 – August 14-20, 2016
Connecticut Tax Free Week 2016 – August 21-27, 2016
