Amazon Begins Sales Tax Collection in California
CALIFORNIA – Starting September 15, Amazon will begin collecting sales tax on purchases made by California residents.This date was part of a compromise between Amazon and Jerry Brown, Governor of California, in order to give the online retailer one more year of sales tax free status in exchange to build and open a 950,000 square foot fulfillment center in San Bernardino.
