Connecticuty Statutory Amnesty

CONNECTICUT – Starting today, September 16 through November 15, 2013 there will be a statutory amnesty. It will cover all taxes administered by the Department of Revenue except motor carrier road tax. Applicable years are any tax period ending on or before November 30, 2012. Penalties will be waived. Only 75% of interest will be waived. There are two special provisions: (1) Taxpayers under audit can participate and (2) There’s a 25% penalty for non-participation. It is estimated that there will be $25 million collected in back taxes.
