Delaware—Multiple Taxes: Mandatory Electronic Filing for Many Business Tax Returns Announced
DELAWARE – The Delaware Division of Revenue (division) issued a memorandum notifying taxpayers that most gross receipts tax, excise tax, and withholding tax returns and payments will be required to be filed electronically as of January 1, 2021. The division listed down the forms to which the mandatory electronic filing requirement will apply. Further, it stated that although taxpayers are encouraged to file all the required forms online they will still be permitted to submit certain returns using paper forms.
The new Delaware Taxpayer Portal will provide a method for electronic filing beginning in January 2021. Taxpayers may email DOR_PublicService@delaware.gov for any questions or concerns regarding how to file and pay electronically. Lastly, taxpayers must note that the due dates for filing and paying remain unchanged, and penalties and interest on underpayments will be calculated accordingly.
