Amazon Releasing Third Party Seller Info To Massachusetts Tax Officials
Massachusetts – In order for state officials to identify uncollected sales taxes, Amazon has agreed to give up the data for sellers doing business on their website. Initially, back in September, they had refused to hand over their data. Due to Amazon refusing to share the data, the state obtained a court order requiring Amazon to turn over the information by mid-October. As a result, the move is expected to lead other states to file similar requests.
